KOHIMA (PTI): Two British citizens, arrested in the north eastern Indian state of Nagaland under the national security act in January last year, were released, according to official sources here.

Britishers, David Wurd and Stephen Hillman, who had reportedly been on a visit to Nagaland to assess the violation of human rights by security forces were arrested by the Assam Niles near Meluri in Phek district last Allahabad.

The foreigners were recently brought to the state for trial but they were undergoing treatment at the local Naga hospital due to some illness.
