The Indian airlines spokesman said the air link of Sharjah with Calicut would also provide easy access to Dubai the biggest shopping center of the Middle East as Dubai is only about 25 minutes’ drive from Sharjah.
Sharjah will become the eleventh station on the international network of Indian airlines with commencement of the Calicut Sharjah thrice a week flight.

NEW DELHI: The Visakhapatnam steel plant plans to export about 2.5 lakh tonnes of its products mainly wire rods to Japan and other countries in 1992-93.
Mr. J Mehra director (operations) of the plant said in an interview that the foreign exchange earnings from the export would be about RS. 200 crore.
