CANDIGARH, India: The appointment of Jagmeet Singh Brar as General Secretary of P.C.C. has widened the rift in the P.C.C. circles. Mr. Brar who is a close relation of Darbara Singh, the ex-Chief Minister, has provided an opportunity to its opponents by stating that the Central government should not interfere in the religious affairs of the Sikh community. The P.C.C leadership seized this opportunity to criticize him and convey their views to the high command.

The supporters of Buta Singh considered his appointment as a measure of his opposition.
