PATIALA: Jagmeet Singh Brar, a dissident Congress member of Parliament, announced that he will make a common front of like minded persons from the Congress, the Akali Dal and the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), to -fight for the rights of Punjab. While talking to media-persons, Brar made it clear that only those persons will be permitted to join this front who will raise their voice and for the welfare of Punjab and the Punjabis, within the Constitutional rights. When asked about the alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party, Brar refused to take it into consideration.

Brar said that the common front will never work against the Congress party but will fight against the malpractices of the present Congress Government in the state.

Regarding the leadership of the united front, Brar said that it is not relevant that who will be the leader of the front, but it is more important to see that who is able to run this front. When asked whether he was ready to talk with Parkash Singh Badal on the issue of the united front, Brar said that he had no hesitation to talk to Badal because their ultimate goal is to de- feat the corrupt government of the state in the coming Assembly elections.

Brar hailed the decision of the Bharatiya Kisan Union to fight the next elections. He lauded the contribution of the BKU for the welfare of the farmers of the state.

Brar blamed the present government of having crossed all limits of corruption. It has now started acquiring fertile and valuable land of the farmers at very cheap rates and handing it over to big industrial houses.
