NEW DELHI(PTI):Finally the Frequent Flyer Programs (FFP) offered by International air carriers are ready for takeoff in India and coupled with the heavy discounts in air fares present the Indian passenger with attractive packages.

After two years of economic liberalization the FFP facility is on the runway awaiting clearances from India’s directorate general of civil aviation

International carrier Air Indias flying returns takes India based frequent fly crsto 100 destinations free of cost. Fly 144000 kilometers on Delta and cam one free round-trip economy class ticket in the Transatlantic or   80,000 kilometers and get one free round trip economy class ticket in Europe.

Thai offers 4000 bonus kilometers to anyone who has flown 20000 kilometers on the airline. KLM along with Northwest also credits its flyer with flight points.” British Airways awards 960 bonus kilometers after a minimum travel of 25600 kilometers.

With all this to tempt the frequent flyer the airlines are getting good responses with the Indian market widening. Barring Air India which is operating its program for the first time jointly with domestic carrier Indian airlines the other international carriers have been operating their frequent flyer programs worldwide.
