NEW DELHI: Janata Dal president SR Bommai will lead a peace march in Punjab in August.
This was announced at a meeting of newly appointed JD office bearers. VP Singh, Devi and Ajit ‘Singh attended the meeting among others. Sources point out the idea is to mobilise public opinion for the proposed elections in November,
Meanwhile, Punjab Janata Dal led by Kirpal Singh MP a dissident outfit criticised to proposed peace march. Gian Chand unit secretary said normalcy would not be restored by marches as shown by earlier such efforts by Sushil Muni, Sunil Dutt and Baba Amte. He asked Bommai to take positive steps to ‘solve the problem.
