ISLAMABAD: An Air India jumbo with 290 passengers and a crew of 24, flying from Paris to Bombay via Frankfurt and New Delhi, was diverted to Karachi early Wednesday following a bomb scare which turned out to be a ‘hoax.

The flight AI 142 left Wednesday afternoon for New Delhi on its way to Bombay.

Soon after landing at Karachi airport, the aircraft was taken to a safe zone where passengers and cargo were quickly off loaded and a thorough security check undertaken.
