NEW DELHI: Work in the Supreme Court was disrupted forabout75 minutes last week following an anonymous telephone call which warmed of bombs inside courts number 6 and 7.
A thorough search of the court promises proved the call to be a hoax, disclosed Mr. H.P.S. Virk, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Supreme Court Security), Mr. Virk said the threat was received at around 10 a.m. and the caller said bombs would explode “anytime between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.” Senior police officials and bomb experts rushed to the apex court and sniffer dogs were also pressed into service. : Theo court premises were cordoned Off and police personnel scoured the Area, but did not find any bomb.
The court proceedings could begin Only around noon.
