JAMMU: Militants exploded. series of bombs in militancy ravaged Doda district on the eve of new year A total of 14 bombs rocked the towns of Doda Bhaderwah and Kishtwa However no loss of life was reported from anywhere according to suite government officials
During the past two years more than 200 bomb blasts had taken place in the landlocked mountainous district of Jammu region but no major damage was done.
According to security officials the series of bomb explosions in all the three towns were presumably against the secretary level talks between India-Pakistan starting from Saturday. The explosions were timed at cresting panic said S . Wazir Inspector Official of Pones Jammu zone. He said that country made bombs with gelatin sticks and explosive powder was used with time devices 10 set them off
The first explosion took place on the Doda-Bharat road at about 6 p.m. followed by another at Doda town.
Three bomb explosions rocked the communally sensitive Bhaderwah town. One of these explosions took police outside a police station.
Six explosions took place in Kishtwar town of which Iwo were outside the house of station house officer (SHO) and a magistrate. These explosions caused widespread panic amongst the residents. The security arrangements were tightened in view of the prevailing panic and tension in the district.
