BOMBAY (PTI): A bomb blast aboard a central railway suburban train Jan.18 in which at least in persons was injured marred the efforts to restore normalcy in the Metropolis where night curfew continues in 25 localities. Police sources said a cylindrical bomb packed with gunpowder exploded in a composite coach of the train bound for suburban ambemath from the Victoria terminus near the Bhandup station.
Seven passengers were hospitalized with bum injuries while two others were discharged after first aid. Hospital sources said the injured had suffered 1040 15% bums and were in a stable condition. With recovery of a body from a ditch in northwest Bombay, Monday, the death toll in the current disturbances rose to 591 as Per figures available with hospitals and the coroner. Police have totaled the toll at 358. The city was peaceful on Monday barring stray incidents of arson at three suburbs the city was peaceful.
