CHANDIGARH: A bomb planted by militant’s at a parking place of the Punjab and Haryana secretariat in this capital city of the two northern Indian states exploded Thursday morning injuring 18 people.
The injured included a Nigerian student.
A number of cycles, scooters and three cars were damaged in the blast at 9am. The splinters landed in rooms on the fourth floor of the 10-storey building.
The militants had crossed the barricades around the high-security secretariat building, guarded round the clock, and planted the bomb fitted with a timer.
