SITAMARHI: One person was killed and several others were injured in a bomb blast towards the end of a meeting here in Bihar being addressed by former Prime Minister, V P Singh on Nov 25.
Some people were also injured in the resultant stampede.
An irate crowd went berserk and ransacked several shops in the nearby areas trying to attack a person arrested by the police in connection with the blast.
The situation was brought under control with the arrival of the Janata Dal Member of Parliament, Devendra Prasad Yadav. Earlier addressing massive meetings at Saharsa and Sitamarhi, Singh said that the Janata Dal and the left parties would fight the next elections jointly to provide a viable, progressive and democratic alternative for the country.
