NEW DELHI: At least 12 people including two women were injured in a bomb blast outside the departure lounge of the Indira Gandhi international airport in this Indian capital early Tuesday

All the 12 received minor injuries in the blast which occurred at 0054 hours (1924 hrs GMT Monday) near the air India counter outside the departure gate police said.

The bomb suspected to be a timer device was kept in a trolley police said.

Police described the blast as a minor one not having much lethal power and said of the 12 injured only five had to be hospitalized.

The five were identified Jasbir Kaur Raj Kumar and Dr Amalesh Arya his wife Seema Arya and their driver A S Thapa. All of them have since been discharged police said.
