NEW DELHIE: In a rearguard move for retaliation the BJP has threatened to divulge more about the alleged meetings of the Jain brothers with the Prime Minister, Mr.P.V, Narasimha Rao, unless the CBI responds to the party’s charges in this regard. MrK. Govinda charya, a party general secretary, urged the investigative agency to reveal the outcome of any verification conducted by it into the BJP leader, Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s charge of the contact between the Jains and Mr, Rao.

Mr. Govinda charya, however, admitted that the prime accused in the hawala scandal, Mr.S.K. Jain’s oral statement to the CBI during interrogations might not be of much value from the legal viewpoint.

“We are keenly awaiting the outcome of any verification by the CBI of the charges,” the BJP general secretary, said, referring to Mr. Vajpayco’s allegation of the Jains’ ‘meetings with Mr. Rao.

In its response to the CBI charge sheet against the party president, Mr. Advani, the BJP is preparing for campaign against Mr. Rao; the principal Opposition party is likely to come out with more charges against the government with regard “to other scandals.

The other half was paid to the Congress party treasurer, Mr. Sita Ram Kesari, in two installments in May 1991 as his residence.

The payments to Mr. Sita Ram Kesri are not found in the Jain hawala diaries, because they were made in May 199] and the diaries had already been seized in April that year.

A kickback of Rs 105 crore was demanded from a Russian company, Tyaza Permo Export by Delhi. This was paid to Captain Satish Sharma who claimed it was for Rajiv Gandhi. Captain Satish Sharma said that the Rs 105 crore payments should be listed against the name of Mr. Lalit Suri at whose hotel the payments were made.
