MADRAS: In a bid to attract votes for the party in the impending elections, the BJP has resorted to getting cheap popularity by gimmicks, The latest is its allegation that the Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) had plotted to kill party president L.K.Advani, and accused the government of not alerting Advani early about the “plot.”
Party general secretary, KVenkaiah Naidu, said the BJP had definite information that the center was aware of the ISI plot against Advani.
He said the plot was brought to the notice of the party only on Sept.23, when Advani was on a campaign from Mysore to Bhopal.
He said senior officials of Madhya Pradesh government has asked the BJP chief to travel in a bulletproof car instead of an open jeep as there was a ‘grave threat to his life.
