NEW DELHI: India stands at “civilizational crossroads” and BJP can be the instrument of renewal and realisation of our great society a political resolution adopted at the night wing BJP’s two day national executive said here.

In this darkening situation BJP is a great beacon of light it said claiming the three BJP state governments were examples of orderliness efficiency cleanliness and responsibility.

The resolution adopted on the concluding day of the national executive welcomed the presidential order dissolving the Lok Sabha (lower house of Parliament) and said we have no doubt that the people of India would avail of this opportunity to give themselves a ne and stable clean and competent government.

It said the country had tried a variety of congressmen and ex-congressmen and found them wanting.

Starting with the trauma of emergency the country had suffered much from the arbitrariness and autocracy of Indira Gandhi immaturity and irresponsibility of Rajiv Gandhi the dangerous divisiveness of V.P. Singh and-lately under Chandra Shekhar) the-return of infantile politics arising from the backseat driving by Rajiv Gandhi it said.

The resolution said the result of this bungling was unabated violence in Punjab Kashmir Assam Andhra Pradesh and infiltration from Bangladesh Besides Kashmiri Hindus had become refugees in their own country it said.

It blames the former Prime Minister V.P.Singh and his lieutenants for having casteised and communalised the national scene to dangerous levels.

For the first time in Indian history scores of youths immolated themselves during the Mandal agitation last year it said

The people of India would neither forget nor forgive the guilty men of that colossal crime it said.

More recently the resolution said both the Congress-I president Rajiv Gandhi and V.P.Singh played politics with the Gulf War in complete disregard of national interest in a bid to comer Muslim votes.
