VP Singh was expected to win easily in his constituency of Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh. But his party went to the election commission with a complaint of vote rigging by the Congress Party in some districts. Mr. Singh’s party a major force in the National Front said that 50,000 ballots pre stamped with votes for Congress were circulated to polling stations before voting began in those districts Nov 24.
