NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party refuted the charge of the Congress (I) that the party was getting foreign funds for its election campaign.

Briefing newsmen here member of the party’s national executive Jay Dubashi said the “BJP’s so called affluence is a myth.”

He said Congress should be the last one to accuse others of laundering money. “Congressmen have been collecting money from foreign sources all their lives” he said adding the BJP does not get money from abroad because it does not need it.

Party vice president K.R.Malkani reiterated the party’s firm resolve that it was committed to protect the art and culture of the country from political interference.

He said the party was firmly pledged to liberate the country’s culture from the “brutal governmental harness in which it had been strapped.
