NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party Tuesday charged all other major political parties with indulging in “competitive communalism and casteism” and claimed it was the only party which practiced “positive secularism”.

Party vice president Krishan Lal Sharma told a news conference here that “pseudo-secularists” of Congress-I and the communist party were “busy wooing” the Muslim league in the southern state of Kerala.

He said the CPI-M was “outleagueing” the Muslim League by publishing in Malayalam Imam Bukhari a Muslim religious leader’s “aggressive” position on the disputed temple/mosque site in Ayodhya. In the state of Andhra Pradesh in the south he said the Congress-I and Telugu Desam a regional party were competing with each other to woo the Muslims.

He said some Muslim leaders were trying to bring the two Janata Dal parties together to promote their own interests.
