NEW DELHI: The right wing BJP said Jan 28 former Pakistan premier Mrs. Benazir Bhutto’s attempts to juxtapose Kuwait and Kashmir was mischievous.
In a statement here the party’s all India secretaries J.P. Mathur said while Iraq was the “open aggressor” in Kuwait Pakistan was in illegal occupation of Kashmir.
He said it would be wise on the part of Mrs Bhutto to contain her struggle against the present government in Pakistan within the limits of her country. Her statement was a body blow to the Simla agreement which forms the basis of Indo-Pak relations he added.
Mathur said Kashmir had “merged” with India as early as 1947 and was part of this country.
