NEW DELHI India: Condemning the murders of BJP leaders and others in Punjab, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday called for a change in the government policy in Punjab and the review of its policies towards Pakistan. In a statement Mr. Krishan Lal Sharma, General Secretary of the BJP, called upon the government to take drastic measures to stop the killings in Punjab and the migration from the State which was bound to take place in the light of the recent murders. The Government must revise its policy of using soft options to win over the freedom fighters, the BJP leader said. He referred to the Prime Minister’s charge, made recently in Tokyo that Pakistan was arming the militants in Punjab but he said this would carry conviction only if the government comes out with a comprehensive white paper on the activities of the freedom fighters in Punjab and the involvement of Pakistan, Mr. Sharma said.
