CHANDIGARH: Mrs, Bimala Khalsa, widow of Beant Singh, one of the assassins of Mrs. Indira Gandhi was arrested by the Punjab police at her village in the union territory of Chandigarh, and detained for two days together with her two- and half-year old son. ‘Reason, for hen arrest was it nor made clear. It is our belief that she was detained to prevent her from_ Participating in the officially convened Sarbat Khalsa meeting at Anandpur Sahib where she had a plan to ‘address the Sikhs on the difficulty faced by the Sikhs. She was later released.
