BHAGALPUR: Ten persons were killed on Nov. 15 when police opened fire on rampaging Hindu mobs.

Hundreds of Muslims have been killed here in the continuing riots during the last three weeks.

Elsewhere, in Patna, At least 5 persons were killed on the spot and| some others injured when Central Reserve police Force (CRPF) men Nov. 14 opened fire to quell a violent mob at village Kamarganj of Bhagalpur District.

State Home Secretary J.L. Arya told that the rampaging mob set ablaze 25 houses and indulged in heavy firing.

He said that some rural areas witnessed communal violence Nov. 13 as armed miscreants torched 11 houses at Khapra village under Sambhuganj police Station.

5 Persons were arrested from the village and three others from Sarai Mohalla in the town for throwing bombs. 4 Bombs were recovered from them, Arya said.

Meanwhile, raiding security men recovered a huge cache of explosives from Sasaram Nov. 13 76 powerful bombs, 4 cartridges, 1 detonator, 13 dynamite sticks, besides bomb making material and looted clothes were recovered from Karansarai area, 2 Persons were arrested in this connection.

In the worst ever communal violence since independence in 1947. More than 1000 people have died in Bihar in the last two weeks. The riots, sparked off following controversy over the Ram Janam BhoomiBabri Masjid site in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, rapidly spread to rural interiors of the state.
