CHANDIGARH: Simranjit Singh Mann, the detained president of the Akali Dal (Mann), who has been elected from the Tarn Taran parliamentary constituency in Pun Jab in the current election, has won by the second highest margin in the country, report PTI

Mann polled 5,27,760 votes against 47,790 polled by his nearest Congress-1 reveal, Ajit Singh Mann, winning with a lead of 480,470 votes. The Congress-1 candidate and all other nine candidates have lost their deposits.

National Font general secretary Ram Vilas Paswan holds the record with a winning margin of 4,98,377 votes in the present election.

Simranjit Singh Mann is undergoing trial on charges of conspiring to assassinate Mrs, Indira Gandhi.s.
