ISLAMABAD (PTI): Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto on Nov.10 announced the opposition people’s democratic alliances decision to march to Islamabad from adjoining Rawalpindi on Nov.18 and demonstrate in front of Pakistan parliament demanding ouster of “illegal and illegitimate” government of Nawaz Sharif
“We appeal to all sections of the Pakistani people to join the march to show their discontent and raise their voice against the corrupt government which came into being by rigging the elections” Bhutto said while addressing a crowded Press conference here.
The decision to march to Islamabad was taken at a two hour long meeting of the top leadership of the PDA Tuesday morning as part of the “mass mobilization campaign” seeking ouster of the present regime. This is the first time since Nawaz Sharif came to power in November 1990 that the opposition is organizing such a march to the seat of federal power Bhutto leader of the opposition in the national and co-chairperson of the Pakistan’s Peoples Party said the IDA was left with no option but to organize the “long-march” to protest against the governments “gross corruption incompetence total failure of foreign policy inflation high cost of living and wasteful expenditure.”
