CHANDIGARH: Haryana chief minister Bhajan Lals additional principal secretary ML. Verma his wife and two sons were shot dead near Kakkar Majra village on the alternative Chandigarh Amatala highway last week by suspected Punjab militants according to Haryana police.
Verma and members of his family were on their way to his native village’s Chhachhrauli near Yamunanagar when the militants struck killing not only the family but also his driver and gunman Haryana director-general of police Kalayan Rudra who reached the spot said that the militants used sten-guns or carbines instead of A.K-47s Vermaenjoyed Lals confidence and had been associated with him earlier when he was a central government minister.
