NEW DELHI: Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal’s boys alias “security guards” have done it again, this time exhibiting the power of their lathis right here in the heart of the Capital.
For no apparent rhyme or reason and just for the heck of it, the Security guards’ shadowing the Chief Minister’s convoy of cars smashed down glass windows of two cars coming from the opposite direction a Shankar Road Rajinder Nagar crossing on Jan.15. The incident occurred at 10:20am, By the time the dazed car drivers realized what had happened once of them received a nasty cut on his left hand the convoy had vanished from sight.
However, the driver of one of the cars, Maninder Singh, refused to take the beating lying down and has registered a complaint in Rajinder Nagar police station and before the Commissioner of Delhi Police. A former Delhi University student leader, he was driving a Maruti Van (DL1CB3232).
What the Delhi Police does with the complaint thrust upon it is yet to be seen, but according to Maninder, “Some police officials told me it is next to impossible to take action against a VIP in such matters.”
