NEW DELHI: The Union Agriculture minister Mr. Bhajan Lal Has tendered an apology to all those whose sentiments had been hurt when an armed security guard had accompanied him into a temple at Puri in Orissa on September 23.
Bhajan Lal said he had written to Jagatguru Shankaracharya and the temple management in this regard.
A national furor had erupted over the incident in which the security man entered the temple brushing aside protests that he was wearing shoes and a leather belt. Interestingly the minister had chosen to ignore the matter at that time, but now he said that he was not aware that his security men had entered the temple.
