PUNE: Bhai Sukhdey Singh Sukha and Harjinder Singh Jinda, who ‘were convicted and sentenced to death for assassinating India’s former chief of the army staff General A\S. Vaidya, will not move the Supreme Court against their conviction, according to Satish Mishra, the defense counsel of Bhai Sukha in the case.

The Duo were convicted and sentenced to death under section 302 read with section 34 of IPC

and also sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a per od of ten years under section 307 read with section 34 for attempting to commit murder of Bhanu mati Vaidya, Gen Vaidya’s widow, by designated court judge V L Ruikar on October 21.

Gen Vaidya, who was the army chief at the time of Operation Blue Star in June 1984, that attacked Sikhdom’s Holiest Shrine, the Golden Temple, was gunned own in Pune, where he settled after retirement.

Mishra, who has been reappointed as the defense counsel by the Government in the Union Bank dacoity and murder case, said the trial of this case would be con ducted before judge Ruikar from November 4.

The accused in the case are Bhai Sukha, Nimma, who was acquit ted in General Vaidya case, Har jinder and Balwinder Singh Binda.
