LONDON: President Sewa Singh Lalli of the Khalistan Government in-exile has advised Sikh immigrants to respect the laws of their host counties.

Addressing a Babbar Khalsa conference in Amsterdam Sunday (uly 19), he deplored incidents in which some Sikh youths had taken the law into their own hands to settle factional rivalries, resulting in injuries, even deaths, in several cases. “Such incidents harm the just struggle in which the Sikh nation is currently engaged,” he said. “The enemy exploits these incidents to tarnish the image of the Sikhs and alienate sympathies for their struggle.” He urged the Sikh immigrants to place national interests above petty rivalries. He recommended the formation of Coordination Committees in all countries, providing a common platform to the patriotic Sikh organizations enabling them to resolve factional differences peacefully and cooperate in strengthening the struggle for survival-with dignity, going on in the Sikh homeland. “The Coordination Committees in the UK and Germany have gone a long way in serving this objective and reducing the factional rivalries and tensions,” he said. “I would strongly advise the Sikh communities to follow the example of British and German Sikhs and form similar committees.” Internal harmony among them will help Sikhs rehabilitate their image as  a  peace-loving nation-and win the host nations” support for their jus struggle, he concluded.
