LUDHIANA: On May 24, a bhog of Akhand Path was performed at village (Ludhiana) in the memory of Khalistan Liberation force (Budh Singh Wala) activist Bhai Balwinder Singh ‘Rageou.’
Baba Thakur Singh and Bhai Mauh Kam Singh of Damdhami Taksal were among the Hundreds of Sikhs who got together to pay their homage to the martyrs of the Sikh nation.
Bhai Balwinder Singh was killed on May 15 by Indian police. The information received here said that Bhai Balwinder Singh along with his three companions were on a scooter with police chasing them. On reaching a small bridge over a canal, Bhai Balwinder Singh fell from the scooter and died on the spot of a neck injury. However two others managed to escape.
Dalon police of district Ludhiana picked up the body of Bhai Balwinder Singh and cremated it, Later only ashes were given to the family, It was also said that Bhai Balwinder Singh was picked up alive by the party of the police, who tortured and killed him, Bhai Balwinder Singh is survived by his father S. Surjit Singh General, his mother Bibi Harjinder Kaur, a wife and two daughters.
