NEW DELHI: The Delhi police is likely to arrest the former Union Minister, Mr.H.K.L, Bhagat, on January 24, the day he is to be produced before the Additional Sessions Judge, Mr.S.N, Dhingra, at the Karkardoma Courts.
According to the DCP (Riot Cell) Mr. A.A. Farooquee, who has been directed by the Additional Sessions Judge to produce Mr. Bhagat on January 24, the Riot Cell would formally take the Congress leader into custody cither a day before January 24 of on the next morning, and produce him before the Court as directed.
Police officials said that Mr. Bhagat had the option of surrendering before him Court or the Riot cell on his own. This would considerably ease the sensitive task of arresting the Congress leader who enjoys a considerable support in his former constituency of East Delhi, they said.
