AMRITSAR: Dr. Sohan Singh a member of panthic committee in a note issued here described certain statements attributed to him and published by Indian media recently san intelligence concoction He said he had issued no statement on elections at variance with the panthic committees known stand calling upon Sikhs to boycott the election. The government’s aim he said was to undermine the Sikhs movement for Khalistan and to create misunderstandings.. Dr. Sohan Singh appealed to the brave people of Punjab not to give credence to the government’s propaganda and said they should be vigilant against the dirty tricks played the intelligence agencies. He said the Sikh unity in favor of an election boycott had completely unnerved the Brahamical government of India. They are therefore determined to bring about disunity among the Khalsa Panth.
“I as a responsible member of the panthic committee would like to assure the people of Punjab that there is complete unity in the Panthic committee and its associated organizations We remain wedded to the April291986res0lution on Khalistan We reject tally the Brahmans election stank.
I appeal to the Sikh sangats and Sikh organizations to completely boycott the February 1992 election in Punjab. They should unite under the Kesri flag to evict from the land of Khalistan the unholy forces of the Indian government.”
