CALCUTTA (PTI): Nobel laureate Mother Teresa was presented on Oct.16 with a replica of the “Berlin Peace Clock,” symbolizing breaking of walls and barriers, at a ceremony here,
Accepting the exquisitely crafted clock, the 83year old mother said, “I accept it for the glory of God and good for our people.”
She thanked the German people for bringing this symbol of love and peace to India.
Designed by the Berlin jeweler Jens Lorenz, the eight feet tall original clock became famous when it’s unveiling in Berlin coincided with the collapse of the Berlin wall, the clock conveys the Message ‘time breaks down walls.”
Replicas of the clock have been presented to former U.S. President Ronald Reagan, erstwhile Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev and German Chancellor Helmut Kohl in recognition of their efforts towards German unity,
Lorenz said the clock is being Presented to Mother Teresa, who, all over the world is known to break down barriers and walls, political, religious or social.
