LUDHIANA: The Punjab Chi Minister Beant Singh said that the Prime Minister and AICC president Narasimha Rao had y the heart of all Punjabis by nominating him to the Congress” Working Committee The decision he said reflected the desire: of the party high command to find an early solution to the Punjab problem because as a member the highest decision taking forum of the party he (Beant sash would be better-placed to present and plead the case of Punjab.
Talking to newsmen here the Chief Minister said the party in Punjab and at the Center was passing through an acid test as the country faced threats from disruptive secessionist communal and anti-national forces working at the behest of certain foreign powers.
Beant Singh who was in a Jubilant mood over his nomination to the CWC was heartily felicitated” by many of his cabinet colleagues prominent citizens and a large number of party workers.
He said he felt strengthened by the confidence reposed in him.
