LUDHIANA: The International Human Rights Organization (CHRO) has condemned the Beant Singh government for harassing and detaining in custody its political opponents Sikh religious leaders and journalists who had been exposing the government’s excesses and misdeeds in Punjab THRO chairman D.S.Gill general secretary Mohinder Singh Grewal and administration secretary Gurbhajan Singh Gill. in a Statement here last week condemned the raid on Aj di Awaz” and the arrest of its trustee Bhai Jasbir Singh Rode and staff under TADA.

According to THRO the cases to disappearance of “Aj di Awaz Managing Editor Gurdip Singh an its staff member Malkiat Singh at the hands of the Jalandhar police have been sent to Amnesty International Asia Watch and other world human rights groups for exerting pressure on New Delhi to produce the detainees in court or set them free.

IHRO has also called upon the people of Punjab political parties and non-party groups to raise their voice against the states on slaught on the press.
