CHANDIGARH: The Panthic Committee has questioned the basis of Akali unity and had made it clear that if this unity becomes instrumental in carrying forward the struggle for Khalistan in the light of decisions taken by the Sarbat Khalsa it should be welcomed.

In a statement received here on Jan 14 issued under the names of Dr Sohan Singh Bhai Satinder Pal Singh Bhai Wadhawa Singh Bhai Mahal Singh and Bhai Harmahinder Singh Sultanwind the Panthic Committee has said if the unity is aimed at paving the way for assembly elections by using the demand for self-determination the Khalsa panth would not allow this game through The backdoor. It should be clear once for all that the government which is now to be formed on the land of Khalistan would not come through the ballot box but would be formed through the barrel of the gun and the will of the Panth.

The Panthic Committee feels the intention of majority of the Akali leaders parroting the demand for self-determination is to form the government and said Sikhs should shy away from these power hungry leaders.

The statement says Mr Mann still nurtures the false hope of changing the political situation. The day he fully understands the Sikh demand he himself would realize the futility of the demand for self-determination and the intentions of these opportunists who have come to align with him.

The Panthic Committee feels that Mr Mann sometimes indulges in unprincipled and i le talk due to his wrong thinking or under the influence of his associates. The Panthic Committee has no reservations as to his tactics provided these tactics take directions from the goal determined by the Sarbat Khalsa. We request that he should not claim that his strategy and tactics had the approval of the Panthic Committee. Our basic difference with Mr Mann is that we are for sovereign Khalistan but Mr. Mann takes three Steps forward and one step backwards from this goal.

Sometimes he takes two steps backward but we still hope that he would return to the place for which the Khalsa Panth is aspiring says the Panthic Committee.

The Panthic Committee has made it clear that it is in communication with Mr Mann but says the problem is that some Akali leaders and even Mr Mann sometimes takes it has approval for his actions. Reminding them of the conditions earlier lay down by the Panthic Committee the statement says if these leaders take it as approval for talks then they are acting dishonorably.

When we criticize our own people the intention is to bring them on the right track or we believe in taking every step to cure the patient.

The Panthic Committee has reiterated that the present Sikh struggle can succeed only by uniting under the aegis of the Akal Takht and Mr Mann should also accept the supremacy of Akal Takht as no organization is above this supreme institution. Mr Mann would become acceptable to all once he comes under the aegis of the Akal Takht.

The situation is taking a historic turn. The Akalis can penance for their past actions and the Sarbat Khalsa would forgive them provided.

They decide to carry forward the Khalistan struggle. peacefully in their own way and announce that they would not participate in Lok Sabha or Assembly elections ever IT SAYS the panthic committee has given a call to observe January 26 as protest day by completely rejecting the anti-Sikh Indian Constitution. No Sikh should participate in the Republic Day programmes. It is necessary to give a benefiting reply to the Indian rulers as the silent grip of Indian army is expanding on the land of Khalistan says the Committee.

The Panthic Committee says it would expose the concepts of Khalsa raj complete freedom and self-determination so that people become aware of the forces behind these concepts and are not misled.
