HOSHIARPUR, India: Former Chief Minister Surjit Singh Barnala and Finance Minister Balwant Singh have ruled out a possibility of Akali Dal (L) forming a coalition with the Congress (I) in the state.

Talking to newsmen they said that Akali Dal (L) headed by Surjit Singh Barmala had the constitutional right to form a government again. They said Union government has no choice but to revive the State Assembly soon after the Haryana elections.

The possibility of finding alternative to Sunjit S. Barnala as Akali Dal Chief Minister is not ruled very high as the rival Akali Dal known as United Akali Dal is considered to be a house divided. At present two factions seem to be involved in war of vilification harming the credibility of the Akali politics as a whole.

The Punjab Congress (I) is bringing this fact also to the notice of the party high command in support of the election. The Punjab Congress (I) is also striving to put its own house in order. The different voices in the organization as were raised in the reported meeting of the State legislature and the organization in this week indicated that there is no unanimity in the party on political as well as administrative issues.
