PALATINE ILLINOIS: Sikh Religious Society of Chicago held a fund-raising event for Bangladesh relief fund at Sikh Gurudwara in Palatine Illinois on Sunday May 12. Mr. Kumar Islam of Bangladesh organisation of Chicago presented the details of the mass destruction caused by the recent cyclone in Bangladesh An appeal for this humanitarian cause was made and several thousand dollars were raised on the spot with many more pledges of donations.
The funds will be handled through the good offices of Bangladesh Association of Chicago.
“The magnitude of the loss of life has touched one hearts and we are simply practicing Sikh way of life to come forward and help the needy” said Rajinder Singh Mago a spokesman for the Sikh Religious Society of Chicago.
