MOHALI: A complete bandh was observed in the town in protest against the killing of Kulwant Singh by the police in Phase VII. The body of Kulwant Singh was handed over to the family after post mortem examination. The cremation was held in Nawagaon near here.
A large number of people including policemen attended. The victim’s father, Kehar Singh, demanded that a case be registered against the cops responsible for torturing his son to death.
Bimal Khalsa, MP, told newsmen that it was a clear case of police repression.
Meanwhile, Balwant Singh Tohra president of Minorities and Dalit Front, Punjab condemned the murder.
