PUTTAPARTHY: Sri Satya Baba brought together the Prime Minister and T.N. Seshan on a common platform here, getting the mercurial CEC to felicitate Narasimha Rao, who returned here after hectic day long electioneering. It was an uncommon sight to see the bulldog Seshan who has become the politicians’ bane humbly now before the Prime Minister, garland him and present him with a shawl as a mark of honor. It was significant that the Sai Baba chose Seshan to felicitate the Prime Minister and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Vijay Bhaskar Reddy, who accompanied him.
Both Rao and Seshan came to attend Sai Baba’s 69th birthday, which is being celebrated here with much fanfare. Both spoke at the “dharma” sabha attended by 10,000 devotees who had gathered here for the celebrations including a cultural program. ‘The Prime Minister, who reached Putta parthy last week after ad dressing meetings in Bellary, Bhadrayathi, and Hiriyur, sat through the function for almost four hours, Earlier both the Prime Minister and Seshanhad prostrated before the Sai Baba.
