NEW DELHI: B.J.P. leader L.K Advani indicated here that his party had no plans to overthrow the Narasimha Rao government. Responding to the move of Janata Dal leftist alliance to impeach chief election commissioner T.N Seshan for his partisan and dictatorial behavior in the recent election in Bihar, Advani said his party was not a party to the move although it had differences with Seshan on the Punjab election issue.

The impeachment move is bound to fail as the BJ.P. Would stage a walk out while the Congress members would vote out the move. The B.P. is likely to wrest some gains in a demonstrable manner from the finance minister by criticizing some of his taxation Proposals but later to vote in favour of the government. In particular the party would like Manmohar Singh arise exemption limit or taxable income for individuals from the level of Rs 28,000 per annum proposed by him.
