JAMMU: The Union Minister of State for Internal Security, Rajesh Pilot, has said that the government could consider the demand of autonomy to the state within the parameters of Constitution, provided there was an all-party consensus on it.
Addressing a public meeting at Vijaypur, about 30 kms from here on Oct.23, the Minister said that the government had an open mind and this issue could be deliberated and discussed at an appropriate time.
Pilot said that the situation in Kashmir valley was fast improving and the government was confident of holding elections so that the people of the state could exercise their right of franchise and choose their representative government. He said that Pakistan had betrayed the people of Kashmir and they had now realized its game plan.
