LONDON: The U.K. Branch of the Punjab Human Rights Organization while endorsing the call given by its parent body based in Punjab, has called upon the Sikhs all over the world to observe August 15 as Black Day in protest against the unabated state repression let loose on the Sikhs especially the women. A black flag march will be taken out by the victims of state repression and P. activists led by its Chairman Justice A.S. Bains, According to Dr. S.S. Athwal,

Secretary of the U.K. P.H.R.O the Executive meeting, chaired by its President Harjit Singh Barrister ‘endorsed the black day call.

Ina separate resolution the meeting Condemned the manbandling of its chairman Justice Bains by the CRPF and the Punjab police at Kharar (Ropar) where he was leading a peaceful march protesting against the killings of Kulwinder Singh Kid and Gurmit ‘Singh in a staged encounter by the police. According to Justice Bains these two young men were already in police custody, Dr. Athwal added.
