CHANDIGARH, India: ‘Sardar Atma Singh, a senior leader of United Akali Dal along ‘with nine other leaders of UAD in a joint statement to the Press described that Panthic unity move initiated at the instance of Mr. Tohra as a “total fraud”. They said that all these moves were part of a calculated conspiracy to make Mr. Tohra either President of Akali Dal or S.G.P.C They also said that Mr. Tohra has departed from his previous stand of demanding resignations of Chief Minister Mr. Surjit Singh Barnala and Finance Minister Balwant Singh and instead he has started talking about Panthic Unity. They alleged that he had also forgotten about his commitment to Anandpur Sahib Resolution and Amendment in Section 25 of the Indian Constitution. They asserted that Panthic Unity could be achieved only if all were to come under the joint command of United Akali Dal, A.I.S.S.F and Damdami Taksal.
