NEW DELHE Atinderpal Singh, the detained Lok Sabha MP-elect, had appealed to all political parties to attend the all-party rally held at Ludhiana on Thursday to find a solution to the vexed Punjab problem within the framework of the Indian constitution.

In a statement, Atinderpal Singh, who is lodged in the high security Tihar central jail here in connection with the east Delhi bomb blast case, said “I strongly feel that if all political parties sincerely participate in the Ludhiana rally, a peaceful solution to the Punjab problem could be worked out.”

He appealed to all factions of the Sikh panth to participate in the rally as it would “help in isolating” those forces trying to tarnish the image of the Sikh panth.

Atinderpal Singh, who belongs to Akali Dal (Mann) group urged all factions of the party including the All India Sikh Students Federation, and the youth who have gone underground, to come forward and express their views at the rally,

“Fair and frank exchange of views, he said, would help in bringing a long lasting peace and communal harmony in the Punjab. PTT
