NEW DELHEI: The stocking of Indian army and paramilitary formations near the line of control in the northern Indian state of Kashmir is continuing even in the face of attacks on some of the convoys, according to gen N S Bhatnagar, director general of supplies and transport.

The general said that “the army had devised means and measures to deal with contingencies and the stocking has recently peaked in areas of Uri, Keran, Titwhal Gurais and other areas facing the line of control”.

Briefing newsmen Thursday night about the army service crops activities as the crop celebrates its 23 1stanniversary, he said the corps had made big breakthrough in devising new de-hydrated rations including ready to catome letters and other food for troops serving in icy wasteland of Siachen.

Gen Bhatnagar said the corps in the current year had achieved a 25% cut in the petroleum consumption, 10% in kerosene and had reached LPG fuel even to the
