HANDIGARH, Indi Army staged flag marches in three border districts of Punjab. One July 27th a twenty four hour curfew was imposed in Amritsar. In view of the tense situation troops staged flag marches in the sensitive border districts of Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Ferozpur, Ambala and Yamuna Nagarin Haryana;In Punjab, people’s confidence was shaken by the killing at Muktsar. Though the life was returning to normal after state-wide bandh. One priest was found murdered at Jangra about 40 k.ms from Amritsar. Mukisar continued to be under curfew without any relaxation. Army troops and state police organized joint flag marches at Ambala, there a Sikh young man was stabbed to death during yesterday’s bandh. In Ambala the army troops were alerted in the wake of yesterday’s incident. The situation was reported to be under control. Flag marches were held in three districts as part of Governments strategy to restore confidence among the people.
