LUDHIANA: In another case of police lightheadedness against serving defence personnel the police on Nov.10 arrested Sukhwinder Singh a gunner serving in 113 Field regiment of the Army.

Lt.Col Chanan Singh Dhillon (retd) senior vice-president of the India Ex-Services League (Punjab and Chandigarh) alleged that Sukhwinder Singh who arrived in village Sarabha on Monday night on a 10 day leave was taken away by policemen in plainclothes when he visited the Gurudwara on Tuesday morning to offer prayers on Guru Nanaks Birthday.

Lt.Col Dhillon observed that the only fault of the detained army man was that his brother Kewal Singh was an underground militant. He felt that this was no reason to harass him and take him into custody.

Lt.Col.Dhillon said in a press statement that last year also when Sukhwinder Singh was on leave the police had taken him but was later let off after intervention.
