SRINAGAR: A group of 23 Pak trained militants and a self-styled chief militant outfit, were among 50 mi it’s Who fell into the dragnet of the security forces in the Kashmir Valley since last week.
A report from Jammu said that indefinite curfew was imposed in Bhaderwah town of Doda district last week due to the prevailing tension there, According to an official spokesman curfew was imposed following an encounter between security forces and militants. The details of the encounter are awaited, However, the district administration decided to impose the curfew as a precautionary measure.
Elsewhere in the valley six persons were killed while security forces captured 13.
Meanwhile, five foreign tourists remained untraced as there was no word about them from their abductors “AlFaran.”
The “AlFaran” who abducted ‘Paulwell, Keith Monigam (British), ‘Donal Fred (United States), Dirk Hasert German) and Ostro (Norway) from Pahalgam on July 4 are demanding the release of their 21 jailed activities in exchange of the hostages. The whereabouts of three other Kashmiris, abducted by militants from different parts of the valley, are still not known.
A defence ministry spokesman said that troops captured 23 belonging to the outlawed Hizbul Mujahideen, who had sneaked in after receiving arms training in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
